Why Spotter

A lot of guys say "I'm good" when they aren't. Most of us would show up for a friend in a second, but we don't always notice when one needs it, and we rarely ask for help ourselves.

Spotter comes from the gym. A spotter is the person standing behind you when the weight gets heavy. You might never need him, but you lift differently knowing he's there. We want more guys to have that, and to be that for someone else.

This month is a small start: one campaign, real numbers, and a recap at the end whether we hit the goal or not.

How it works

1

We move 60 miles as a team

By November 30, one mile for each of the roughly 60 men lost to suicide every hour worldwide. Runs and walks both count, and every mile gets logged on Movember.

2

You give through Movember

The donate button opens our Movember page. Movember takes the payment, emails your receipt, and puts the money into men's mental health and suicide prevention programs.

3

Join the team, run with the clubs

Anyone can join Spotter Project on Movember and add their own miles. Walking counts. We're also planning runs with campus run clubs this month to hit 60 miles and push past it, in miles and in donations. Dates coming soon on Instagram.

4

Recap on November 30

We'll post the final miles, dollars and number of donors here and on Instagram. The real numbers, whatever they are.

The free way to help

Text one guy you haven't talked to in a while and ask how he's actually doing.

That's the whole thing. It takes a minute and it matters more than you'd think.
